Beware of Mrs. Liars... apologies, Mrs. Meyers.
And Branch Basics, Seventh Generation, Tide, Johnson & Johnson, Deft, Pledge, Clorox (duh!!!), and many more.
Did you see the study from the Organic Consumer Association regarding popular store-brand cleaning products? You will NOT believe which product tested at the highest level for the carcinogen (cancer-causing agent) 1,4-dioxane!
*Mrs. Meyers Clean Day Liquid Dish Soap* had the highest levels of this carcinogenic chemical at an alarming 204 ppm (parts per million). That is ten times higher than any other product. It's worse than Dial and Palmolive.
It takes less than 28 seconds for chemicals that touch your skin to enter your bloodstream. 28 seconds!
Inhalation to bloodstream?.... 2 to 3 seconds!
Mrs. Meyer's employs toxic chemicals like methylisothiazolinone, once named "Allergen of the Year," causing skin issues and fragrances linked to multiple health problems.
This is the same Mrs. Meyers you thought was safe.
I used Mrs. Meyers for years, believing it was safe, but I've since discovered it contains harmful chemicals.

TOXIC:
What is 1,4-dioxane?
It's a petrochemical dubbed by the State of California and the European Union that causes cancer. Due to its toxicity, many consumers would not expect to find it in "natural" or "organic" branded products. The contaminant 1,4-dioxane is a byproduct of the ethoxylation process, a cheap shortcut companies use that creates harsh cleaning ingredients.
1,4-dioxane is:
• a suspected kidney toxicant
• a neurotoxin
• a respiratory toxin
• linked to endometriosis and reproductive issues
• a significant groundwater contaminant
You won't find 1,4-dioxane listed as an ingredient on the back of a bottle. Crazy right?
The FDA doesn't require chemicals to be listed on product labels if they are a contaminant made during the manufacturing process (ethoxylation). Even crazier, right?
How to Avoid Toxic Chemicals?
Read and research labels on shampoo, soap, laundry detergent, toothpaste, mouthwash, deodorant, lotion, etc. Even if a chemical is listed as a “low” carcinogen (cancer-causing agent), I stay away from it. Why? Because toxicity builds up in your body over time, slowly exposing yourself to small amounts of a harmful chemical can harm your health, damage organs, and cause disease. Just a few more ingredients to avoid:
Sodium laureth sulfate
PEG compounds (usually listed as "PEG" followed by a number)
Chemicals that end in "eth" (denotes ethoxylation), like ceteareth and oleth
Look for organic products that don't allow ethoxylation processes.
